Hello! We have 2 small kids and we are looking to move to the Johns Creek, Alpharetta area in a subdivision that is very family friendly with lots of children. Can you recommend a good subdivision? We are considering St marlo but curious if its just older families or young preschool/elementary school aged kids? Also can you recommend a good elementary school that is strong academically with diverse student body? Diversity is important as we are korean. I'm also looking for a school that welcomes parent involvemement and volunteers. My daughter is moving up to Kindergarten so we keep going back and forth on whether we should do public or private. Although we love the Christian education and small class size that a private would offer we are leaning more towards public bc diversity is very important to us. Just worried if she would be overwhelmed playing on the playground with 100 other students and bullying... What do you think about Johns creek elementary vs Wilson creek or State Bridge Crossing?

Check out SchoolDigger.com for ratings and demographics. IMO, you can't go wrong with any of the schools in N.Fulton or S.Forsyth counties. Not sure why you'd be worried about 100 kids at the playground ... that's what kids do ...

You should post in the Atlanta forum. This is time general Georgia forum. We used to live in the general area you describe, in n Fulton. The area you mention is very popular with asians, with Koreans probably living closer to the border with gwinnett county. In general, No need for private schools in that area.

Hosanna - I live in St. Marlo. Plenty of younger families. All you have to do is head to the pool in the summer - you'll see. St. Marlo feeds into the Lamberth school district. A very excellent school. Finally, you will find St. Marlo to be popular with Koreans. Best of luck to you.

This question is kind of like asking which tree in Sequoia National Park is the tallest. Or which of the Great Lakes is the wettest. Or which Taylor Swift song is the cheesiest. You are looking into what many consider the best schools in the state of Georgia. I can't think of going wrong in any of them.

From the Chattahoochee to Cumming just throw a dart and pick that school. They're all great. Also look into the N Gwinnett and Peachtree Ridge HS clusters in Gwinnett County. Suwanee has a large Korean population. Lots of stores with just Korean signage. Also a H Mart.

Wouldn't that be Duluth, not Suwanee?

There's H Mart off Pleasant Hill in Duluth and Lawrenceville Suwanee road at 85 in Suwanee. I think both cities are pretty large in Korean population. Even here in the Brookwood area there's a lot of koreans, I just haven't seen any all Korean storefronts
