My family is looking to make a move down south where we will be near the coast. We live in Ct now, but used to live in VA and miss the southern culture.

We have school aged children, so quality schools are a top priority. We are an outdoorsy family and are looking for a place where we can enjoy beach, fishing, boating, etc. Looking for a place with lots of kids and sense of community, not a vacation or retirement area.

I am fortunate enough to have a high paying job that I can do out of my house, so the job market doesn't matter.

What areas should we look at?

Thanks

Sean & Diane,

Have you looked at the Savannah sub-groups? I think there are people who write on that list who helped me with information about the Georgia islands earlier this year. They knew quite a bit about those areas.

Best of luck,
zebbie

Savannah sounds like the place you should be looking. St. Simons is another option. Currently, I live in St. Marys. I moved here in June and I am still forming my opinion. St. Marys is still very small town. However, it is 30min to Fernandina Beach, FL. We go there alot for the beach and date night....great restaurants. The drive to Jacksonville, FL is about 40min to an 1 hour depending on where you are going. It provides everything big city.
