Default Moving to Covington, GA

We are young newly weds that are moving to Covington for great job opportunities. We were wondering about the best elementary schools. Schools are very important to us. We are also wondering about the best neighborhoods or subdivisions to live in. If anyone could help us that would be great

Wow! I am relocating to Covington as well but no one has responded to me. I heard of racism there from this site but I am not sure. As far as elementary schools, Livingston seems that it may be pretty good as I have been in communication with the principal and childcare facilites for before and after school care. What zip code are you moving into? What kind of job opportunites are there. I am in the clerical field?

30016 is the zip code that we are moving to. The job opportunity is for my husband he's into denistry. I will be finishing up my degree in Birth-Kindergarten Teacher Educ. I am not sure about any other jobs. I am posting my question on other forums as well because we don't have a clue about Covington but we have to move there, but if there is an area close by that is better we would rather live there and travel to work. Thanks for the name of the school because my son is beginning kindergarten and if there is any racism in the city and by any means carries on into the school system, I need to know about it.

Well I hear that Conyers is nice as well and very close by there. That is where everyone in Covington goes for shopping and stuff, Wal-mart etc..but just check your surroundings as I did, check Georgia Sex Offender site and do a look up by your zip code just so you know who lives near you with a case like that, I have 2 small kids and i'll also have 2 big pistols and a dog. It is a shame to have to protect your kids like that- but it is 2008!

I have a home for sale in Covington in the Lochwolde Subdivision. I love Covington. The only reason it is for sale is because we moved to SC for my husbands job.
