McIntosh is at the bottom of my list of Fayette County High Schools. For while it is strong academically, and has moderate potential in sports--depending on the sport itself, the atmosphere at the school itself is horendous.

A student may be challenged in the classroom, but the real challenge keeping that student away from the real challenges of avoiding the severe drug and alcohol problem McIntosh has.

Parents of students as well as the faculty and staff there are typically strict in their academic standards. However, they have adopted an apathetic view of drug use by students. Parents and teachers either have no clue what is going on, or just turn their head the other way.

Default PTC Vs Sharpsburg Vs Fayetteville

My family is considering moving to the PTC or Sharpsburg area also. We currently live in Alpharetta, but my husband commutes to La Grange (over 4 hours a day drive time). Our home is on the market up here, so we are really trying to decide on an area to move. Does anyone know if the Centennial Sub-division has a summer swim team? If you live in Sharpsburg area (like Beasonsfield or Persimmion Creek) where do the kids do year round and summer swim leagues? I have been looking on the internet for months and can't find the swim information. I have been to the Kedron Fieldhouse, which has summer and year round swim, but wanted to know if there was closer swim in Sharpsburg. Thanks to anyone who can offer advice and information. Hard to decide exactly where to go. Schools, swim, age of homes, ect... are all factors for us. We have a 3rd grader and a 7th grader, so school choice is very important. We would be so happy to hear from some people who live down that way. Thanks!
