Macon is in the center of it all; very diverse, neighborhoods to meet all standards of taste and income. Macon or Atlanta make excellent choices.

Lake Park at the FL-GA line might be the perfect place. It is a small town but there is a decent size conglomeration of commerce near the I-75 exit. Quite a few restaurants and shopping places there. The houses/developments that are built around the lakes of the town is an absolutely beautiful setting. Also, there is even an amusement park not far away, and if you really need to, you can always go to Valdosta about 10 minutes away for more shopping/commercial/cultural activities.

Oh yeah really? Macon is the center of it all but also the center of pretty much nowhere for miles in all directions except south of it, unless you think that the bland development of Warner-Robins is nice for unknown reasons.
