Thanks Disgusta, I really see no need to flood your thread so that it stays on the front page, if people see a topic worth discussion they'll discuss it no need in keep repeating the same facts over, just the thread going. You have just about the same amount of posts I have and i'm going on a full year here and you've only been here how long? Also look at how many people are reading what you've got to say, its doesnt match up. Just hang it up for awhile come back in two months and start over wiht a totally different approach.

Mayor of macon you started macon the best thread on june 6,2007. Your thread only has 479 views wow. My thread started jan 17, 2008 and already has 246 views. Maybe you need to start a different approach since nobody wants to read yours. Obviously more people click the link when the see augusta than a thread about macon. And why are you saying thanks to a person who said you post propanganda.

Augusta is booming with growth! Everybody come see for yourself

Augusta Economic Development - Richmond County Development Authority

In 2007, Augusta was named by BizJournals.com as “The Most Affordable Place in the United States To Own A Home”. Housing in Augusta is approximately 52% of the national average. Overall, the cost of living is about 82% of the national average. This translates in to overall lower operating costs for companies, making Augusta even more attractive for new locations.

Also in 2007, Southern Business & Development magazine named Augusta as one of the “Top Ten Places in the South With Plenty of Talented Labor.” The 1800-acre Augusta Corporate Park was also named by the publication as one of the “Top Ten SuperSites in the South” in 2007.

I grew up in Augusta. I'ts a beautiful city to raise a family in and it's very low key. I moved to Atlanta about 11 years ago and now reside in Suwanee,GA! I love it here!

Augusta will always lack good entertainment, culture, and other baisic infa-structure that keeps people there. It's a transient town. People come for MCG then they are gone and Visit for the Masters and then they are gone. Look at Riverwalk for example it was a great addition to downtown and helped revitalize the area, but after the new wore off it almost bombed shops closed & sold off for condo's and I think the only reason it's stable is because of the nightclubs that give the younger crowd something to do in an otherwise boring city. And let's face it going out in Augusta even gets boring. There are only so many places to go and when you get there it's always the same people!

I don't mean to slam the place but that's what it wound up sounding like. This just reminds me of all the reasons I left Augusta in the first place. When I get 40-50 I may move back when I have kids and put them in a good school system there and take it easy. Augusta will always be my home.

You are right augusta does have a great nightlife for a city its size. But i can tell you haven't been to augusta in a long time. Or heard about all the construction going on or that is planned for downtown. The riveralk will have 2 10 story condos on one side of it. The other side on the riverwalk will have a multi-functional baseball stadium on the property. Yeah and alot more construction has taken place since you left 11 years ago. I agree that its a beautiful city to raise a family in. Come back to augusta this year and trust me you will be shock. At the amount of construction going on especially downtown. There is a library, tee center, 2 10 story condos, 2 or 3 hilton hotels, judicial center, and many other projects happening now. All in downtown augusta. Augusta is becoming a major city. Trust me when you visit you won't recongnized it.

Next time you visit downtown augusta. The watermark project on the savannah river will be going up in 2008 with 3 hilton hotels beside it.
