Exclamation info

ok well, the City of Guyton is full of crime-you may want to consider Springfield. Effingham County schools are very good. There's a pretty good variety of restaurants in Rincon, not too many too choose from in Guyton or Springfield. I would suggest going to Statesboro rather than Savannah to shop unless of course you want to get robbed and shot in broad daylight.

Crime in Guyton??? Wonderful old homes in the center of town. The Christmas tour of homes is very special. there is an IGA and hardware store. lots of land and farms. but the Jobs are in Savannah or Statesboro

There are 2 malls in Savannah with Target and upscale shopping

My 2 cents....

Restaurants in Southeast GA are subpar compared to any metro area. Outside of Savannah only chain restaurants seem to make it.

Crime in Guyton and Effingham is very low. Of course I don't think Savannah is that bad as far as crime. Perhaps it's the years living in areas such as Detroit, Memphis and South Florida that makes me feel this way.

Very little shopping in Effingham County. Statesboro is an improvement, but Savannah is by far the best city for shopping in the region.

I think effingham county would be a good fit. There's still land there and the schools are great. Savannah does have some nice shops. Especially little shops on tybee. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. There isn't too much crime out there. There are alot of homes being built there. Lots of people moving out there from downtown Savannah for space and good schools.

Feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions on my city. I may not know the answer, but I will surely find it.

Here in Guyton were are using a Department of Public Safety concept. Our police officers are cross trained as firefighters and first responders. Our fire services are volunteers, however we keep one firefighter on duty Monday through Friday during the work day. That coupled with my officers, myself and the chief being firefighters helps lower insurance ISO ratings and protect your homes while you are away in Savannah working.

As for the above post saying Guyton is riddled with crime. That may have been true 5 years ago but not now. Since the inception of the police department in 2006 and the change to Public Safety in 2008 crime has dropped significantly.

Guyton and Springfield are located in Effingham County. These are the western suburbs of Savannah so no, they wouldn't be close to the beach. Driving distance to the beach from Guyton and Springfield would probably run you an hour to an hour & ten minutes depending on the route & the amount of traffic. Thats if you're going to Tybee, Savannah's only beach. Hilton Head is another story.
