Hi all,
We will be moving to Georgia in the upcomming spring. Our chioce of where to live for now will be straightly based on the best elementry shcools in area. We have 2 boys (3 and 6). One of our kids is boderline autistic and is currently in a special education program in MN which is great. I will greatly apprecaite any advice of the best elementary schools in Cobb county (I heard this county has the best schools in GA).

We did not take advantage of this, but I have neighbors who raved about the special needs kindergarten. I believe that all elementary schools in Cobb have this, but I'm not sure. We are in Ford Elementary's district, and our neighbors love the teachers for this. We have another neighbor whose child has fairly severe Aspbergers. The district did a LOT for this family and really worked to make a good IEP and work with the parents.

My neighbor has a son with special needs. She is very pleased with Kennesaw Elementary School. They also have a special bus that picks him up and takes him home everyday.....and they do it right in front of her house. Her son has been in the program for several years.

I think every school in Cobb County has a special needs program.

Default looking in idaho for best elementry schools with special education.

I'm looking to relocate to Idaho. I'm debating Idaho Falls or Coeur D'Alene area I have a daughter who has a learning disability. we had her evaluated and she is 7 years old going on 4.5 year level. I want to find a school that offers year round help so she won't fall behind.. I'm leaning towards Coeur D'Alene. any suggestions...

I think you will be surprised at what Georgia has compared to northern states. I understand some areas are trying to improve with the help of Emory Autism Center at Emory University. Hopefully if you already have an IEP you will have better luck. Georgia created the SB-10 Georgia Special Needs Scholarship....because of the lack of proper choices for special ed students. Although private school choices are pretty limited as well. We're moving far far away from Georgia in hopes of getting my almost 11 year old ASD child some real education services. Good luck!
