Cleared off area around Emerson (Alpharetta, Cartersville: real estate, broker, live)

Does anyone know about the plans for the large, cleared off areas around Emerson (specifically near the intersection of Hwy 41 and 293)? I have been hearing rumors about a mall for approximately a year. Thanks.

When I lived in Cartersville, the chamber of commerce had announced that the area was going to be a huge commercial area with a steak and shake and an outlet mall like that in gordon county near calhoun, i dont know if it will move forward though, cabela's has cancelled it's plans in adairsville but have said they are still looking in Bartow County and north GA, they could have chosen Emerson... unlikely though...

There are several speculates about that area of Emerson. One involving Cabela's and another one involving a massive retail development. A real estate broker from Cobb County once told me that Emerson would be the next Alpharetta/NorthPoint.

I heard a massive n-hood area, although there's another one up 41 close to the Red Top Mtn exit, tearin away the hills
