Default Moving to Georgia - Need Advice on Neighborhoods

My husband and I are looking to move to Georgia and are looking for a well establish neighborhood in which the majority of residence are African American. Low crime rate area with easy access to hospitals, parks and stores. A community in which the residence take pride in their homes and culture. A family community. This would be a retirement home and our primary residence. We will be relocating from California. Our ages are 57 and 63. Our budget is between 250K - 400K.

Adrienneali you should check out the belair area in Augusta, ga. That way you won't have to deal with atlanta traffic but still have the same amenities. Belair estates is probably 98% black and is a family community. They have a park and other things located in the neighborhood. The houses go up to over a million dollars for some. So for 400,000 you should be able to find a nice home. The area has low crime and is easy access to the augusta mall, hospitals, and parks like you named. If you want to be surrounded around black proffesionals this is the neighborhood for you. Alot of houses are being built in belair because black people with money don't have to live in a predominately white area. And can still live in a upper middle class neighborhood.
