I was over at the census bureau's website looking at new residential permits issued so far this year. The latest month available is August. Overall, residential construction in the state's metro areas is up significantly when compared to last year. I expect this trend to probably continue into next year, although I do expect some areas to slow down because of local and global economic conditions.

2015 YTD New Residential Permits-August 2015
Albany-136, +14 when compared to this point last year.
Athens-734, +180 when compared to this point last year.
Atlanta-20,284, +2,502 when compared to this point last year.
Augusta-2,079, +331 when compared to last year.
Brunswick-349, +48 when compared to last year.
Columbus-969, +412 when compared to last year.
Gainesville-591, +174 when compared to last year.
Hinesville-205, +71 when compared to last year.
Macon-129, +39 when compared to last year
Rome-63, +14 when compared to last year.
Savannah-1,427, +127 when compared to last year.
Valdosta-418, +171 when compared to last year.
Warner Robins-687, +379 when compared to last year.
