You REALLY REALLY can not try to reason with people that would actually say Columbus has a better skyline than Macon or Augusta, because they literally do not even have one.
brentyyoung12 who cares about who has the better skylines and bigger downtowns we no our city columbus does not have a skyline but who says we can not build one you never no what could happen to our city who says we can not build a better and bigger skyline oh and one more thing columbus is the home to many big businesses and headquarters let me name them to you lets see the aflac headquaters is located downhere thats the mini skyscraper building another one is synovus and tsys and if tsys would have built a skyscaper instead of a campus then columbus would have had a better skyline but they chose to build a campus i wish they would have built a skyscaper but they did not and if the aflac headquarters would have had built there tall mini skyscaper downtown but they built it in midtown columbus then columbus would have had the 2nd biggest downtown in the state of georgia but who says more companys and big businesses wont locate to our area and build skyscapers and tall buildings in our downtown let me finish nameing the rest columbus is the home to carmike cineas and toms food which they make snack and chips so when you go into a store and buy some chips or a snack that says toms then you will no they are made downhere in columbus

Actually, Columbus has 2 which are taller than any other buildings in GA's 2nd tier cities. Yes, I have been to Macon and no it doesn't have a skyline.

Columbus' buildings are not clustered, if they were Columbus would be the only city outside of Atlanta that would have a true skyline. Macon and Augusta DO NOT have skylines.

And Augusta and Macon are? You people are delusional if you think any other city in Georgia, outside Atlanta, has a true skyline.

Do you know what a skyline is? just because buildings don't exceed 25-30 stories that not a Skyline

"A skyline is best described as the overall or partial view of a silhouette of a city's tall buildings and structures consisting of many skyscrapers in front of the sky in the background".

That qualifies Augusta and Macon to me..... it said nothing about stories it said tall buildings......Skylines serve as a kind of fingerprint of a city, as no two skylines are alike. For this reason news and sports programs, television shows, and movies often display the skyline of a city to set location.

Atlanta

Augusta

Macon

Savannah

Columbus

I think whether or not a city has a skyline is really ridiculous... because it is a poor barometer of how urban a city is. Washington, DC has virtually no skyline (by law), but it is more urban and more densely populated than Atlanta, which has a very impressive skyline. Outside of Atlanta, Savannah is the most densly populated and urban city in Georgia, but it has not much of a skyline.
