ok i wish yaws city good look and i hope it can contiue to grow and i also wish my city columbus georgia where i live can contiue to grow and you no what i dont get about some of these people on here yerocal they always say that there city is bigger well why dont them people put pictures of there city on here like me and you are doing to show us that there city is bigger thank you and have a nice day

I actually did some research on the US Census website a couple of months ago and posted information about the metros on another forum. I'll copy and paste that information here.

Heres some information from the 2006 census estimates taken from the official us census site about the current population of the georgia second tier metros.

7. Warner Robins 127,530
* Auburn-Opelika (Alabama) 125,781 (I included this because in 2010 this metro will most likely merge with Columbus)

As of right now Macon and Warner Robins are seperate but will most likely merge when the MSA's are redefined in 2010.

Here's the ranking in growth between 2005 and 2006. This will indicate which metros added the most population in 2006.

2. Columbus 6,352
3. Augusta 5,394
4. Athens 3,015
5. Auburn-Opelika 2,659
6. Warner Robins 1,954
7. Macon 1,357
8. Albany 1,156

I took the liberty of compiling some data from the US census website about the amount of retail in each second tier metro and here are the results.

Augusta = 5,081

Savannah = 2,982

Columbus = 2,465

Macon = 2,225

More information form the census webiste. This includes the number of lodging and restuarant establishments in each second tier metro.

Augusta = 1,287

Savannah = 1,161

Columbus = 705

Macon = 580

This includes the amount of Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation Establishments in each second tier metro

Augusta = 1,076

Savannah = 900

Columbus = 484

Macon = 413

Ths includes the total amount of business in each metro (health, retail, wholesale, arts, lodging, restaurants etc.)

Augusta = 40,873

Savannah = 28,733

Columbus = 22,017

Macon= 19,774



The follwing is the ranking of who had the most development or new business from the previous year 2004.

Augusta = 2,152 new businesses

Savannah = 1,734 new businesses

Columbus =1,575 new businesses

Macon = 1,051 new businesses
