Best Place to Live near Griffin?
I am looking to take a job in Griffin at Caterpillar. I have 3 sons, am married, and a Christian who loves to Golf, as do all of my sons. So, I'm looking for a nice Community with decent schools etc. With my wife we have an upper middle income and are looking for a low crime area not more than 20 miles from Griffin. We would prefer a small town lifestyle with updated shopping.

Have you considered Newnan?
.... I am not so sure about the "small town lifestyle" but some of the schools are great, there is an abundance of shopping, restaurants and of course golf.
You mentioned that you are a Christian and I would like to say that I believe I have found the best church in the world here in Newnan. There sure are plenty of them to choose from!
Good luck in your search!

Senoia is very 'small town' style. Brooks is beautiful. These are both approx 20 minutes from Griffin, but depends on where in Griffin. I wouldn't live IN Griffin, personally. But the others I mentioned. Also, not too far is Sharpsburg, Turin and Peachtree City <---my fav area.

OH, I just saw you said GOLF. Peachtree City. A bit more than 20 minutes I believe, but not by much.
The whole town you can go through on golf carts! They have a small airport. Affordable. Big Range in prices. I have seen condos rent from 850 per month to houses in the millions.
Peachtree City, GA - Official Website - Paths & Golf Carts

I'd like to second that Senoia is a charming little town. It's close enough to Peachtree for shopping.

Peachtree City is really an excellent choice. I know of someone who commutes to Griffin from here and she doesn't mind the drive. There's no traffic going that direction so it is an easy drive. PTC is a great golf community. All the n'hoods, shopping, schools, churches, etc are connected by the golf cart paths. You won't be disappointed. It sounds like it is a good match. It is for us! : )

There are places to live in Griffin/Spalding County. We choose to live in Pike County. It is more "country" than Griffin (we have 2 stoplights in the county) but still very close. Public schools are decent. Parts of North Pike County are considered Griffin even though they aren't in Spalding County. Most of the county areas of Spalding County are mixed with good and bad areas. I guess I could say the same about city addresses too. There are areas you would not want to live in in both. Peachtree City is going to be a good 30 to 40 minute drive, depending on traffic. Many people do it but I know it wouldn't work for me. You will be working on the opposite side of Griffin. Butts County can also be close if you consider an address close to I-75. Locust Grove (Henry County) is another area you may want to consider. Both Butts and Henry Counties are easy access to I-75 and then Highway 16 straight in to work. Check the Georgia Department of Education website for schools. I personally prefer schools in Pike over Spalding, Henry, Butts, and especially Lamar.
