Default Monroe County

Anyone know of any new subdivisions going up in Monroe County, GA? We know about River Forest and Adamsville Park but they are too far out. We live in Macon and need to be closer to Atlanta for my husbands work. We heard they are building a new SuperWalmart in north Monroe, and a new elementary, is this true? Anything else in the works for shopping or groceries without having to go into Forsyth? Thanks!

There is some commercial stuff going up in North Monroe, but its a few years off. Check with Connie Hamm. She has alot of Monroe developments listed with her.

Thanks Peelo.....Monroe County has so much potential just like Houston County and being between Macon and Atlanta helps them too since there are not many jobs in the area (I used to teach there). There does need to be some I-75 clean up areas around Forsyth but it could be a nice city. It is just such a large county. I asked orginally because I thought since the government people are moving down it might bring more development, restaurants to the area? Any thought on how much influence that will have?

The DOC moving in will bring ALOT of development in the way of residential and commercial. I cant say alot, because some of my friends have stuff going on there (as well as myself) that we`d prefer not to let out of the bag just yet. However, there are many developments in Forsyth and some a little north of Forsyth (but still in the county of course). IF you could tell me what price range you are looking into buying, I might be able to suggest some subdivisions. Right now is a good time because alot of the builders in the developments have lost the homes, and they are priced right. Just let me know and I could PM you who you could talk to personally so you could save some money buying directly from the owner, without an agent and fees that come with that.

Thanks so much Peelo!!! I understand your not wanting to share just yet just PM... anything helps. The reason I ask is because we like Monroe since my husband works some in Atlanta and needs access to the airport ( he is a Technical Consultant Software Developer), but most of our family is in Macon; yet, we like convenience! So there in lies the problem.

We like southern and northern Monroe but we don't really want to live near the city of Foryth. We would like a subdivision (wish more had sidewalks) and we are looking from 300 to 400K.

Thanks for all your help!

Default Monroe County

We moved to Monroe County in 1999 and I am surprise it has not grown faster. We built a house in Brushy Creek Estates in 1999 and loved it. When River Forest golf course was bought by Canongate, we built there in 2007 and have loved it there since. It is a beautiful neighborhood and we have 19 other golf courses besides River Forest to play. We have a great neighborhood watch/association along with a great security guard staff. Here is a link to our home. http://bellsouthpwp2.net/d/i/diannehaire/default.htm
I need to update it.

I work at Hartsfield-Jackson and the drive can be a little hecktic in Henry County, but I've delt with it since 1999. I see many Houston County tags, so I feel like I'm not too far out. We have one resident that travels to Conyers every day. Whew!

Builders are hungry for business, so you should be able to get a great deal on building a new home, or there are a few for sale in our neighborhood.

Annual association dues are at $800.00/year which is excellent. We have an adult pool and a teen pool. There are beautiful horses and two lakes. If you've never been by to see River Forest, you need to stop by.
