We moved here thanks to the Air Force in 1997. We lived on base first, and my daughter went to Robins Elementary, and then Tabor Middle School. We bought a house when my husband retired, and chose the north side of town. The traffic in this town is horrendous. Anything south of Russell Parkway and you are in gridlock. My husband works on base, and from our house it takes about 8 minutes for him to get to work every morning. 15 in the afternoon depending on traffic and lights. House prices are taxed heavier and cost more in the southern end of the county. Bear in mind this usually means lower square footage and almost non existent yards. I work for the school board, and my son will be going to Northside High School. My daughter graduated from it in 2004, and loved it immensely. There is a lot of tradition and pride at NHS, and many teachers in the county are alma maters of this school. I have to beg to differ with the Hoco promoter. This school is all about money, who has it, who doesn't. It has always been that way. And guess which school in the county has the biggest drug problem! HOCO! shocking! Also, let's talk about the cover ups that go on at Hoco. Heavens, we can't talk about the drug busts, the car vandalism, the assaults that go on on a daily basis there can we? That might make people think that Hoco isn't all it is cracked up to be! LOL Yeah, keep smoking those left handed cigarettes, and keep thinking Hoco is the best in the county. The only thing Hoco has that the other three high schools don't is BIG BUCKS and rich people throwing their money around. I have found that the majority of folks build houses and/or want houses that are zoned for Hoco because they don't want their kids to be around...ahemm....'black kids'. Shallow? Yep. Racist? Who knows? But I got news for them. The real world isn't lilly white, and your precious babies are going to go out in the real world and have to work with and possibly FOR a black person...reality bites!
Back to the topic...all the schools in the county are fine schools. Yes, you will have things you may not like, yes, there will be trouble makers at the schools, etc...but if your child wishes to excel, be the best they can be, join all the clubs they want to join and make the most of their high school years, then you have nothing to worry about! All of the high schools encourage parental involvement, and you will get more in return too!

Welcome to the city....and it is Northside-Warner Robins thing in regards to football! Spend one fall here and you will understand! GO BIG BLUE!
