I have researched this area and found it to be a big time growing area. Can anyone tell me what it is like? Is it a good place to raise family? Does it look like it is growing? Is it pretty? I don't care for towns that look old that are not getting a facelift. Makes area look shabby. I'd really like some info.

Three to five years ago, Dallas Georgia was nothing. It was really the country. Now it has been growing like crazy and new construction is everywhere, (like most of Atlanta and surrounding areas) restaurants, shops, etc. But it still has that country town, not so diverse feeling. A lot of people move out there because the housing is cheap, and, of course, like anywhere, the further you are from the city, the cheaper it will be. I don't know what you're looking for, but if all you need is a gas station, grocery store, church, a couple of chain restaurants and wal-mart, then Dallas is your spot. I have a good friend that lives out there. She called me one day to say, "Dallas is getting a TGI Fridays, everyone's so excited!!" If that gives you any idea. Plan on about a 45 minute drive to Atlanta if you really want something interesting to do and see.

Dallas is a wonderful place - but no I don't live there
I moved out past Dallas almost 7 years ago so that I could have plenty of land for my horses. Yes, there has been a lot of growth, but by no stretch of the imagination is Dallas a small country town at all. Anything you want is there with the exception of a mall. Construction isn't really a factor, either. Dallas is a beautiful community and has all the amenities of a normal sized town you'd find anywhere else. Now if you want small-town...try further west.
I love the area, and work in downtown Atlanta. It takes me about an hour to get to work, which is nothing compared to the hour and a half it took me to get 25 miles down 400 when I worked in Buckhead before I moved in 2000.

Dallas is a wonderful place - but no I don't live there
I love the area, and work in downtown Atlanta. It takes me about an hour to get to work, which is nothing compared to the hour and a half it took me to get 25 miles down 400 when I worked in Buckhead before I moved in 2000.
