Default Advice on a Madison-to-Atlanta commute?

We are currently living in a suburb of Chicago and are looking to relocate to the Atlanta area. We both like Madison a lot, but it looks like jobs in the construction management field are all (mostly) in Atlanta. Question: Does anyone know what the commute would be like to, say, the southern part of Atlanta from Madison if I need to be to work by 7:00 am? How about if I'm leaving downtown Atlanta for Madison at +/- 4:00 pm? I drive an hour+ in the morning right now if I leave at 5:30 a.m. and I'm getting nailed with a 2 to 2-1/2 hour drive coming home when I leave Chicago at 3:30 or 4:00 pm, just to give you an idea of what I consider a normal drive. Anyone know what I can expect? Thanks.

Default Not to bad

I make the commute from Madison to Downtown Atlanta every day. It's a 60 mile commute and takes me about a hour and a half in the heat of the traffice which is about 7:30am and 4:30pm. South Atlanta will actually be a little bit better because you can jump on the 285 loop and going south traffic should be light.
