IF you get to Dublin this weekend, catch the festivities of St. Patricks Festival. It is a week long event and a good time.....

This is not that complicated!!!!
This is dublin
been here forever
fear not the best solution is rentz or dexter
this is not mayberry
oringianaly from new mexico
the only thing you might want to brase your self for down here is the air
breathing becomes uneasy in an instant
the redneck games are fading
our main street munchies is growing
keep it on the west side of this county
yes growing up as a teen was hell
but not far from macon
mall is weak
every one knows everyone
the main players are easy
iv seen every singel side of this place and in every way
good deeds in the bad places: bad deeds in the good places
iv lived everywhere from lake view lane [country club] had drinks with our crippeling shiriff to ridge wood [stay away] where 90 percent of all our discus beads
to markwood where i walk to the mail box in my undershorts
small enogh to get known for what you do :big enough too hide from it
for truly understanding this as my home now i would say im an expert at the maps of the town soc. literal

From just driving through town, I have not been impressed. There are lots of run-down buildings and businesses that look far from successful. And the cops - just check out speedtrap.org. Dublin and Laurens County are clearly reputed for their crooked law enforcement! There are some nice and new parts of town here and there, but I don't think they make up for the trashy areas. This is basically an old south Georgia city with little or no old money rolling around.

How did you find out about this place? I'm from Florida (by way of NYC). My parents have some real estate in several areas in the south (Georgia being one of them) and on a recent trip, I decided to tag along. We happened to drive through Dublin and I didn't see that there was much there. We found a cute bed and breakfast, a small 'downtown' or I guess, 'townsquare' but that was about it. The rest of it seemed really industrial and there was a Golden Corral, a hotel and this one clothing store that everyone shopped at. I couldn't find a mall for miles Couldnt quite locate the supermarket and didnt see a movie theater or blockbusters in sight. So I'm not quite sure what was going on in that town. I also didnt notice any schools but then again we didn't drive through the entire town. I assumed everyone must work at that one hospital there unless they commute elsewhere. Wasn't my cup of tea but unless you're moving from a really small town, you'll probably like it.

Dublin is small and I will admit there is not that much there but there is more to it than what you saw.
There is and mall, a small mall with a Belks, JCPennys, and a few other small stores. Dublin is industrial and I think that part of Dublin is growing.
I went to the Dublin City schools, years ago, but I think the county schools are now much more desirable.
My family is still in Dublin so I visit @ once every 2 months. I don't think I would ever want to move back, but there are a lot of people that love living there.

I drug my anchor from sea to sea
Cadwell Corners is the place for me.
Currently living in AZ, bought some land in GA, paid too much but then again I am a city slicker so I guess I got slickered, not on the land but on the price of it.
From all of the rain I have seen there lately I guess I gotta bust up a couple of beaver dams (whatever that is).
I think I am gonna like it there.

Man...where were you people at? I was born and raised in Dublin, and there are PLENTY of restaurants as well as grocery stores....Damn, that town has more grocery stores than churches!!!
And if you dont know any better than to believe what you read on the internet, then you have more serious problems than I can help you with. The law enforcement there isnt crooked (I should know, I was a deputy there once), there are just some very smart folks on the force. Like the "License check" sign on the interstate....LOL...they loaded up more drug dealers that day on the next exit ramp because the dealers were too stupid to know you cant do a license check on the interstate. And yes, they will haul your ass to jail for excessive speeding if you are from out of state....they have done that for years, even when I was there. Too many folks go back home and never pay the ticket, this way the county gets what it should for idiots speeding through Laurens county.

if you missed being in town
during the month-long St. Patrick's festival, here is a short write-up Courier Herald
Dublin is a very welcoming town, with immigrants from India, Japan, England, Ireland, Ghana, etc.
However, it IS extremely easy to be left out of a clique anywhere in the world whenever one cannot even spell it! Enough said.
