I moved to Cumming about 8years ago and have seen it change drastically!
It has built new schools, enlarged libraries, new restaurants, shopping areas, and motels.( even the religious community is expanding) It has been a little over-whelming but it us adjusting quite well. The recreational areas have a wonderful appeal but most important it has become a very welcoming place. No longer is it a little country town. New people bring new ideas and attitudes and our town is becoming more diverse! No matter where you go ( any state any city or town) there is the occasional unwelcoming person....but in Cumming the people I have talked to are enjoying the interaction with neighbors from different cultures and baxkgrounds. If you are a good neighbor, you will find yourself in a very welcoming enviroment. Why don't you come and see for yourself? |

Don't mind if I do! We have our eye on buying a house there once our house sells where we used to live. From what I have seen so far, I agree with you.

I went to cumming and I thought it looked a liitle run down. Poor people and illegals. Where are the nice parts?

Cumming will NEVER be a welcoming place for me. Things might have gotten "better" in the past 8 years, but it will always be the place that burned crosses on my lawn, rocks through my windows, and generally a horrible childhood.

Ooooo, OK so I had no idea about Cumming's history. I hope that has changed because that is not what I want my kids to think is acceptable!

The grand Wizard of the N Georgia claven of the KKK still lives in Cumming! He is a deacon at a large baptist church in the area. I hear people often brag about the fact!

YIKES! Man am I learning a lot! That is not what I want my kids around! We are in Alpharetta now and may move to something over the Forsyth line but I think we are sticking with Alpharetta.

It looks a little run-down on Ga. 20 on the west side of the city limits. However, there are large areas that are "Cumming" according to zip code in unincorporated Forsyth County, and they are good.
