Fort Valley question
I have seen a couple of negative posts about Fort Valley, GA -- to stay away from there, but no reason given. Could someone elaborate on why it is not a good town to relocate to? Of if there is positive information I would like to hear that also. Thank you for any reliable information you can provide.

Hmmm....Doesnt seem anyone will say it, so I will.
Ft. Valley is like a city full of ghetto....Thats the truth to the matter. Large number of minorities in blacks and Latinos. The majority of the housing there isnt fit to be lived in....its just a leach to Byron, sucking the life out of what could be a great town. Thats the truth, whether anyone else wants to admit it or not.

Peelo you just dislike the entire middle georgia area if you don't like don't live here. You can say the same thing about Byron that you did about Fort Valley. The county have to split the funds between the two cities and besides theres better employment oppurtunities than there is in Byron The more you towards the city limits the better the home are in both cities get your facts before you go judging the area

The only leech thing about Fort Valley is its Mayor who panders to the needs of Blue Bird instead of looking at the city and wants the city to stay the same Fort Valley let Stumbo go who's been in power since the early 90's The city should be the size of Warner Robins as far as business oppurtunies are concerned. There are some ghetto neighbohoods in Fort Valley i know i've lived there But the Northside on 49 and Southwest 96 side of the city is the best areas of Fort Valley. Just not the areas around downtown.

Thats not true......Ft Valley has a lot of very nice neighborhoods, so what are you trying to say that Blacks and Latinos can't have a nice place to live..... If you going to mention that, don't forget about the very large number of poor whites....In Fort valley and Byron

There has been a noticable change about the city. there used to be pecan fields in almost every neighboorhood in the city. Thats disapeered during the past ten years. Where robins fed an dollar gen and the new subdivision that whole area used to be a large pecan field. in older neighborhoods like vineville it pecan fields have disapeared and their are some newer houses there. There are also new Houses along tailors mills road and highway 96 west.

for someone who isn't a member on the site you sure have a lot of hate for Macon and Fort Valley. That sounds like a racist comment if you ask me. you have that utopia where in every city it's houses are worth $400,000 theres no crime, every city has a mall and all its citizens are white, what world do you live in. fact is people here know what they can afford the foreclosures havent really affected the city the people not going to get over there head. Those ghetto neighborhoods you refer to around the university are starting to be renovate or torn down so get ur fact right. downtown has been renovate
