Douglasville is considered a suburb of Atlanta. You may wish to post in the schools thread in the Atlanta room for info: http://www.city-data.com/forum/atlan...-one-keep.html

Douglasville is where we're relocating to from NY. Met a co-worker who lives in Winston and took a visit and really liked the area.

What area are you going to be working in? You might want to try in Austell, or the Lithia Springs area which isn't too far from Douglasville. I used to live in Austell and had to pay a private daycare provider. You might want to sign them up on a pre-k list for next year. It was very hard for me to get my son in a program when he turned four. A lot of facilities have long waiting list. Good luck!!!!

There are several great preschools in douglasville area. If you are planning to relocate to the Winston Area there are 2 really good ones in the Mirror Lake area within 5 miles of Winston (Kids University and Mirror Lake Academy)and another on Highway 5 (Green Acres) in Douglasville that are great. Also several of the churches in the area offer preschools that are fantastic. I live in the Winston Area as well and I think it's a fantastic place to raise your children, a little bit of country feel, but close enough to get to the "big city" if you need. If you need help finding a home in the area, I am also a realtor and can help you with that.

Smile Green Acres on Hwy 5 is a great daycare

Hi,

I have a four year old who will attend Pre-K there this fall and who has been at Green Acres since he was 11 months old. My 8 Year old attends the afterschool care and is there during all school breaks. We have loved the school. One thing that you might be interested in is that they already have several sets of twins in all age groups. There are twin boys in my son's class and the teacher is very good at recognizing there differences. She never confuses them.
The classrooms are video-monitored continuously. When he was smaller and cried when I left the room, I could stand at the front desk and watch to make sure he had calmed down. Of course, this was more for my benefit.

Another good daycare in the area is Sunbrook Academy- My daughter attended there for a while. I did have one problem with a certain teacher that caused me to pull her from the school, but was informed that the teacher is no longer there.

I hope this helps-
Delilah
