Cagle, GOP rivals take 'religious liberty' pledge

Say goodbye to our expanding city and economy. Why would you look at what happened in NC and decide to repeat it here? I thought conservatives were pro business, why would they push something that will immediately halt all of the businesses moving here? Our film industry is now number one, but no one is going to film here if that passes.

Why are republicans so hell bent on destroying the economy just for their own Christian version of Shariah law?

Yeah, that's the problem. The citizens who support such a measure aren't the ones exactly contributing to the progress and tax base of Georgia.

Terrorism by the minority. This will not be good for our state.

And even sadder because it's a solution in search of a problem.

Are there really enough voters in this state that think this is a good thing? Maybe it's just my circle of Metro-Atlanta residents, but I've never heard somebody say this is a good idea, even the staunch conservatives I know. Do people in the mountains (the most conservative part of the state), where there is little if any diversity, really feel they are getting discriminated against for their Christian beliefs in their daily lives? The vast majority of people who live there are white and Christian, who are they being attacked by? Are people that blind as to think this state can survive without the economic engine that is Metro-Atlanta?

I'm hopeful that things won't get worse, but if they do, the nonreligious Pacific NW and its tech jobs are a Delta ticket away, for me.

The religious activists are extremely well organized and they are a powerful voting bloc.

So most politicians are not going to step outside the lines they lay down. If you do you are automatically handing your opponent a big chunk of voters.

By contrast people who are not religious activists are all over the place and they don't have any formal (or informal) organization. Stepping on their toes is not going to bring any kind of organized reaction.

Nothing but a shameless ploy to pander to the right-wing goober vote.
And yes, this is bad business for Georgia.

We have real problems to worry about in this state. This is not one of them. Really, this will just make more problems for us.
