The locals arn't always so nice to the newcomers. They will be nice in the stores, etc. but just stay a while and you will see what I mean. And someone asked the pros and cons from FL to GA? How about state tax! And crazy fees to renew your tags. We had a new SUV that cost $400 to renew. Things to think about.

The clan has been outta business for years, put there by the IRS. Only old guys reliving the past. Hasn't been a cross burned in a long time. Yeah, so yer tags cost a bit more, I'll be yer insurance dropped though. Taxes on vehicles are high everywhere, except here in MT - b/c we don't have a sales tax.

Im not going argue with you. But I know for a fact the KKK exists in North Georgia. I dont know about burning crosses but they do exist.Young and old alike as well as skinheads. Just google....white knights of georgia or kkk, georgia, etc. Also, look at this sites race numbers in the upper cities. It speaks for itself.

You can't believe everything you find on the web. Many things which appear to be official are not. Here's an example created by someone at the University where I obtained my degree:

This is true, however I will tell you that I visited my boyfriend who was going to school at the time in Dahlonega. I stayed one summer and I saw things around there that I had never experienced. He's hispanic, but I saw the blacks being treated bad too. I saw trucks with confederate flags, and kkk hoods flying off the antenna, alot of people wearing the blood drop symbol from the kkk, etc. He was threatened many times by rednecks to "go back where he came from" and we both felt very unwelcomed anywhere near dahlonega or dawsonville or even jasper or cleveland areas. Dont know if they are actually kkk or just wanna be...but they scared the shi* out of us. and yes, we got out!Believe me that kkk stuff is there and not just on the web!

LOL...ya think? Anyone that thinks it doesn't exist, obviously doesn't live in the area. I've been here(Blairsville) a long time and Dahlonega, Dawsonville,do have KKK members. They are not the violent type (Im told), but they get their point across. Anything in the N. Georgia mtns. is going to be very redneck and very racist. Don't like it? I guess don't move here...?
