Smile Relocating to work in Monroe, GA, need help on where to live with spouse and 4 yr old?

Looking for a freindly town with good schooling & low crime, near monroe, ga, maybe 30-40 min commute to work which will be in monroe, ga. We live in NE Pennsylvania and we just can't stand it here anymore sick of the weather here. I've been browsing around the area on the net. I've heard that these towns are good by reading in the forums; Bogart, Snellville, Watkinsville. I just don't want to pick somewhere and go there and hate it. I'm a married hard working person. I just want my son to grow up in a nice town, I could care less about myself, just worried about my son the most. Most likely over the summer, i'm gonna take a trip down to look around the area. Any help would be appreaciated, thanks.

Stan,
We have lived in Monroe for almost 6 years. We targeted this area for the middle and high school. We do not live in the city limits of Monroe. We are actually on the border of Monroe/loganville and still in Walton county. My son attends Loganville High and will be graduating in May. We love it here. It is rural where we live, yet nearly all shopping is within 5-10 miles. Conyers is a short trip, also. If you need any further help or specifics, pm me and I will see what I can do for you! I have mentioned in previous posts, our subdivision has homes with at least 1 acre. There are 2 homes for sale currently, that I know of, and I will check further if you are interested. We moved to Ga. from Ct. and have lived in Gwinnett county (Lawrenceville) before moving here. I think if you check out the schools, Youth elementary, Youth Middle and Loganville High School, you will not be disappointed. There are many sports available for your son, if he is interested. There is also an excellent music program in the middle school. Housing prices here are a little bit better than the Atlanta area and you get more for your money. Good luck to you!
