Florida is still growing, and last I checked it was still the fastest growing in the southeast, however I might be wrong. But a main reason Georgia is having all of these interstate traffic problems especially on I-75 is because you have half the nation, and a portion of Canada traveling on it to get to Florida for vacation, relocation, and whatnot. Also dont get it confused the state of Florida hasn't lost and population since it was admitted into the union. As a matter of fact they have not had a population growth less than 20% since the U.S. census was established.

Actually Mayor, this is from the Florida thread:

After a long stretch of explosive growth, Broward County has actually LOST population according to census estimates for the period between July 2006 and July 2007. This is the first time the county has registered an annual population loss since the census began compiling these statistics.

The report also notes sluggish performance elsewhere in Florida:

Quote:
Other Florida counties were similarly affected. Palm Beach recorded zero growth since 2006, and Miami-Dade registered the lowest growth rate in years.

Broward County surprised me! Does anybody know why it is losing population. Palm Beach County remained stagnant and Miami Dade only gained 10,000. What's happened to Miami???

You all are singling out counties, and cities, which you really cant do. Macon is losing population at about 1% but Bibb County has a 4% growth rate, Macon is inside of Bibb County. What im saying is that you cant really say until we know for sure. People from Broward County may actually be moving to Jacksonville, which would be inter-state relocating like many people do.

Im sure Florida will continue to be the fastest growing state in the southeast for the next five years or so, even with all the growth Georgia is experiencing especially in Atlanta (but until Atlanta get their water problem fixed, there actually losing more people coming than they are gaining).

Also i'm searching on the internet and can't find any information on this could someone please state a source.

It doesn't surprise me that south Florida is not attractive to retirees anymore. What person wants to retire somewhere where they will encounter gangs and be told they must speak spanish? In my state of Alabama(especially the coast) we are getting many people who would have otherwise considered Florida.
