If any 2nd tier city has a chance of a large high-rise it is Columbus or Augusta...not Macon. I am not saying Macon isn't growing, but there is no demand there for a building of that scale. In my opinion, I would be hard pressed to believe Columbus could pull that off even though it is home to Aflac, TSYS, Synovus, and Carmike Cinemas. I am in real estate so I know the factors it takes to build a building of that size.

You mean Macon And Augusta, I work with in commercial Real estate, and talk and meet with a lot of developers from top companies out of Atlanta which also agree s that Macon is a hot target for this type of development its already starting to show with the huge amounts construction going on right now. If demand was the most important factor then Columbus has a very slim chance to to get any high rise of this or any huge project because of its remote location if not than it would already have them by now....... What Makes Columbus stand out NO Interstates, it appear hometown to modern developers, remote location and etc.) So tell me how would Columbus compete against cities like Savannah Macon and Augusta it has no form of attention draw....... other than Fort Benning..... so tell what makes Columbus Stand out more against other competing 2nd tier cities which has interstates, great state locations sea port and etc. Anyone in real states knows those the attributes companies look for when locating operations to a city. For Example why Kia didn't locate in Columbus, i can tell you why "access", that why it built its operations in west point because of I-85. ...... Macon has a perfect location a couple of hours to port of Savannah off I-16, close to Atlanta and harts field airport and easy delivers to and from Florida or to the northern states with I-75, across road for commercial rail lines in Ga,and the state planns to connect Atlanta to Macon by commuter rail and hopefully chose to convert Macon airport into a reliever airport for atlanta.... Man you need to do your research.......

Macon is home to large regional Offices for some the US mid to large companies like GEICO, Cox Communications,Allstate, Georgia Farmer Bureau HQ, IKON, First Data and more......

I think Macon needs to work on saving its mall since it is in foreclosure right now. Macon has NO demand for highrises. Why can't you understand this!!!!!!!!

Because, the reason you give that supports why YOU feel Macon will not get highrises is point less and has no supporting facts. Because in any city when a high rise is developed it not base solely off demand because like i said previously, usually in most cities with high rises of that size it almost about never from a existing businesses, but more of new ones locating into the area...... Oh yeah high rise genius, when i was speaking of high rises in DT Macon I didn't necessarily mean office complexes ONLY, I was references all of the above hotels, banks, condos and etc.

......Let Me correct you on the Macon Mall issue. the news stated that it "MAY" be going up for Foreclosure "Meaning" it hasn't yet, I guess you're up to another one of your schemes to make Macon look bad, But for your info and for who ever else cares, Nothing at the mall has or will change, business is still going as usual and will continue too. The Macon Mall Parisian store will be torn down and a Movie tavern will reconstructed in it place at mall which is scheduled to open in 2009..... Movie Tavern "Oh by the way, Yes the mall will still be open by then and will continue to do so".... So if you going to try and state something from a recent article make sure you tell or relay it correctly, the good and the bad..... Just Another attempt by YOU to make Macon look bad has failed....lol

So hey when you direct something to me or another posting on this forum make sure YOU know what you're talking about before hand, because unlike a lot of you guys i do my homework before i open my mouth.....so i suggest you do same before you come with these ridiculous and negative comments about Macon with your half read info......LOL ....
