I was about to say, I hope those pics were taken at 7pm on a Sunday evening, because the entire downtown looks deserted of people (well, except one guy looking in a window).

The arial view of the mall is sad. Notice how few cars are parked there.

Yeah, that's a HUGE problem with Macon. A few months back I drove down to Savannah for a few days and on my back to ATL I decided "Hey, why don't I just stop in Macon and grab something to eat." It was a Sunday evening around 6pm. Just about everything was closed. It was a nice spring day and no one was out just walking around. I mean NO ONE. It was like I was in a very well kept ghost town or something.
Hopefully they'll get it straight. Once the high speed rail lines are built, or if Macon gets a commuter rail stop to ATL, they'll see a nice boom. It's definitely in one of the more pretty areas of the state.
