Hello everyone,

I recently accepted a job at Dalton State College and am looking for an area to live. I was reading some of the old posts on here that are a decade old talking about the negatives of Dalton, but when I visited several weeks ago I did not get the impression of what was on this message board. So my question is what are the pros and cons of living in Dalton, Chatsworth, Rocky Face, Ringgold, Resaca, and Calhoun

Resaca Beach is great, but really why would you live 20 or 30 minutes away? Live somewhere right by the campus, maybe close enough to walk, or at least west of Glenwood.

Dalton, at the moment is the 2nd largest city in NW GA behind Rome but it's on pace to pass it within the next 10 years. Dalton is a nice small city in the state and it's slowly recovering from the recession. It has all of the things you could ask for in a small city: A mall, decent shopping and restaurants. Also, it's not far from Chattanooga and Atlanta if you wanted to get away for a day. Finally, considering that you are working at Dalton State, I would live in Dalton, Whitfield County or maybe Chatsworth.
