Smile Valdosta Ga information

Can someone tell me about the golf and fishing opportunities in and around Valdosta, Ga. Also is there any feedback on the living conditions there?

Default depends on where you are coming from...

i've been here for about 4 years now, and have witnessed the growth of valdosta. my fiance loves playing golf when he has time, he plays a little now and then...I can think of 3 golf courses that are in or near valdosta. so to speak. Stone Creek, Kinderlou, and there is one down about 15 miles south of here as well in Lake Park, GA! he also loves fishing. they always go to the river (one of them)...i get them all confused. Just remember, you are only a few miles from the florida border, and there are PLENTY of fishing opportunities down there (Fresh or salt water).
i love living in Valdosta, i came from a town just a little smaller than valdosta. i love it, the only thing i can't stand here is the traffic. IT'S HORRIBLE especially at 8:00am, 12:00 pm, and 5:00 pm. You do get used to it, Just warning you. I wouldn't have picked anywhere else! If you have kids, Wild Adventures is right here also. It's a little bit of everything all within reach! hope i have been of help!

I am from Valdosta (I now longer live there) and I agree with amieloo02. There are places to golf and lot's of fishing holes. You'll find plenty of lakes, ponds, rivers, and creeks. Twin Lakes and Bank's Pond (freshwater) are two large fishing spots. Also the coast is only a few hours away. You're about 20-25 miles from the Florida line. The Swuannee river is just a bit further down the road (FL line) and I have done a 1/2 day canoe trip on it, it was gorgeous. I went back to Valdosta this summer for a month and I was amazed with the growth in the area. Churches, schools, restaurants are plentiful. Just watch the traffic, and they will pull you over for speeding on the way to Moody AFB! And I do know Wild Adventure has good concerts along with the animal exhibits/rides/water that they offer.
