Still close to call. It's 50.3 to 48.7.

That’s a staggering lead when only maybe 30-40K votes remain and you need to win over 70% of them.

People (including those in Georgia) love their money more than God.

The legislature will try to pass a Religious Liberty Bill, and it’ll become national attention again. Coca-Cola, Delta, and others will threatened to move shift their operations elsewhere. Kemp will veto it once they do.

Handel's refusing to concede McBath's declared victory. Abrams is still refusing to concede. Patience will play out differently for both.

OK here is why Abrams is not conceding and why Kemp is not declaring victory. From CNN.com--Abrams statement on why she hasn't conceded.

Quote:
Three of the state’s largest counties “have reported only a portion of the votes that were submitted by early mail” and four other large counties “have reported exactly 0 votes by mail,” according to the campaign. Together, it said, the seven counties “are expected to return a minimum of 77,000 ballots.”

“These counties also represent heavily-Democratic leaning constituencies, and the majority of those votes are anticipated to be for Stacey Abrams,” the statement read.

The campaign also said it was waiting for absentee ballots—“another major pickup opportunity for Abrams”—to be counted, something that Abrams told her supporters in Atlanta as well.
If there are 77K absentee ballots that haven't been counted from the Atlanta metro, then that alone could conceivably net the 30K or so votes she needs to force the runoff. Then add to that the provisional ballots that are still being contested, and now I understand completely why we are still in a state of flux.

She is also sending emails to supporters asking for donations to assist in ensuring all the votes are counted. Reading between the lines, this is going to drag on...

I'm so glad we sent Handel packing.

Pretty sure that is old news from this morning. The last ballots that need to be counted are mostly absentee ballots mostly from people in the military. There aren't 30k of those total.

Because as a fairly progressive resident of a multicultural fairly progressive area in an inner ring Atlanta suburb, I don't like being represented by a right winger. The fact that metro Atlanta's growth of newer and predominately younger residents has reached the point where it overcame the gerrymandering in this district is fairly significant imo.

Yeah those totals are old. Gwinnett reported a good 15K after that, 5K from Clarke and Fulton and Douglas did as well. I don’t think the total is more than 40K at this point and I might be too high
