schbondgirl- To be honest, I haven't been into the gaming stuff for quite a while, not since the days of Super Mario, Starfox, etc. Of course that stuff was all in the early-to-mid 90's! I kind of got away from that because it was addictive for me… playing it 12 hours a day (or more) was not an unusual occurrence! Would be cool though to maybe meet up with you and your husband sometime, if y'all are still around!

FlourChild- No need to be sorry for me, I'm actually looking forward to getting out of here and down there. If you lived in a Chicago 'burb, you'd probably be looking forward to leaving here and going somewhere else, anywhere else, as well. I do understand what you mean about family and home though. That's about the main reason (and better weather, of course) I'm looking forward to movi ng down there, because I'm from Florida and have a lot of my immediate family down there. For your sake, I hope that you're able to get out of there soon, and be living closer to where it is that you want to be!
Aw, thanks, sweetie. You seem like a very sweet person; I really hope Albany treats you right.

sfk4al- Thanks for the info, and I might do that sometime, but I'm single and for now am looking to get into something simple for the time being, a one bedroom apt.

FlourChild- Thanks!

Thanks MOM2NINE! I've moved around a lot on the past 5 years (Georgia will be my 5th state in 5 years!!), I'm pretty much used to adapting to new surroundings. I haven't had any real difficulties in that so far, so see no reason why this move will be any different. It definitely sounds like there are some out of ordinary things in Albany, as far as what I'm used to, but the way I see it is that when the winter time arrives, I won't have to deal with a lot of snow and below-zero temperatures like I did this past winter!

Yeah, I always get a laugh out of people "brrrrr"ing and talking about how they're "freeeeeezin'" when it's 55 degrees outside. People here tend to wear sweaters until the duct-taped-facedown-in-Dennis-Rodman's-armpit weather hits.

Haha... that analogy sounds hotter than it could possibly ever get in Albany... and hopefully it never smells as bad as I (try not to) imagine how bad that would smell. But yes, I am much looking forward to 55 degrees feeling "chilly" because from what I've gotten used to, that's become shorts and t-shirt weather for me!

The heat here is usually compounded by the fact that everyone (men, women, children, old nuns, babies, stray UPS men) has a big furry beard, composed entirely of gnats.

Okay, I exaggerate, but not by much. You'll see. Bless your heart.

Hmmm...I've read here and there on this website about the gnats being quite the nuisance in Albany. Needless to say, I'm not much looking forward to that. Being from Florida, I'm used to dealing with Plecia nearctica (better known as "lovebugs") for a few weeks in the spring and then again for a few weeks in the fall, and neither of those periods of time are pleasant by any stretch of the imagination! Is the Albany gnat problem a seasonal thing, or an all year-long thing? Hopefully my apartment will have good screens!!

We were told it was a seasonal thing, but I distinctly recall going outside a few months ago (I think it was in JANUARY) and having gnats act like paparazzi.
