I understand that part but why does the media perpetuating it make parents more comfortable with a son more likely to spend money on a child if he gets someone pregnant, compared to a girl having to raise a child?

But the media also portrays a lot of sexually liberated women, at least in entertainment so I thought that was way more equal nowadays.

I think this kind of archaic mindset is fading away with last couple of generations. Women have been taking control of their sex lives for a while now.

Well for one thing, the biological drive to have sex in young males is usually much higher.

It'd take a lot more than a couple CD posts to accurately answer that question.

I, for one, would prefer none of my children, regardless of gender, to have premarital sex. But, we all know they are going to. So, just use birth control. Bottom line.

The people who you-know-what-shame girls and boys are the same ones who want to deny them their right to affordable and accessible birth control. So they claim to hate a thing but they go out of their way to remove the obstacles against it's happening.

That's what my hope is but hearing people talk the way they do...it's like what generation are you from? LOL. One time I was working in a store and the guy was far younger than I; he saw a woman buying condoms. I could not believe my ears when he started commenting on what kind of person she is that she is buying condoms...I was like...she is doing what she should be doing. She is protecting herself and there's nothing wrong with that. The guy and his folks were into church and so there's that.
