Can someone clarify that after July 2019, you only have to pay 3% tax on a vehicle you are bringing in from out of state? I live out of state and really need to buy a car now, but am moving to Georgia this summer. Any info greatly appreciated. I don't understand the new bill

The measure reduces the fee on vehicles new residents bring into the state to 3 percent from 7 percent. I'm glad new residents won't be getting double taxed as harshly. I had to pay over 1,000 bucks when I moved back. I should now actually start benefiting from what they have in place. What a way time flies!
