Default How To Make It To Georgia?

Single African-American woman with some children looking to make things happen in Georgia. I’ve been trying to escape the coldness of living up North for practically all 34 years of my life, but Illinois has got me all locked up. I’ve done a bit of research here and there but Georgia has a wealth of information, which can be quite overwhelming. I was somewhat discouraged that the starting pay seems to be much lower than what I had expected. However, I have faith within myself that I could start out low and make things grow at a rate faster than I’m currently growing in my professional life in the Northwest Area of Illinois.

It would be nice to live in Cobb County especially because I have found that the schools seem to be very good, but it’s possible to start I might need to find the next best. Can anyone suggest some alternative counties that have some fairly decent schools? My children happen to have master potential and have been able to stand out as genius despite the failing school district which they currently attend school in. Currently, they are attending an Arts Academy to help develop other talents since academics seem to be their strong point. However, the lack of opportunities and positive outlets in this area has proven to be quite devastating and has led even the best of the students lost going nowhere. Since my oldest will be entering high school in the fall of 2007, now is definitely the time to make that step.

Currently, I have a Section 8 Voucher, which I’d like to transfer to the Georgia Area, but since I’m barely meeting the income eligibility I’d give the voucher up and move without it if it’s too much of a wait. Does anyone know how difficult or easy it is to work with the Housing Authority in Georgia? It would be nice if I could use the voucher to move to Atlanta or somewhere close to Atlanta. I’d be looking to rent a 4 or 5 bedroom within the $600-$1000 range. So what do I need to do…where do I start…how can I get to Georgia by the fall of 2007?
