I dont think that's realistic. Augusta and Savannah are noticeably more urban and "fast" than Macon and Columbus.
Columbus even appears to be more "country" than Macon riding around town. It doesnt look as dense as Macon when riding along the main roads/highways in both cities.
In order for Columbus to be the "next" major city in GA...it would have improve its "city feel" a TON.
Perhaps with all the said growth that is supposed to happen...maybe Columbus will start to look and feel more like its population which i hope for and would be great, but right now it looks more sleepy than the other cities.
Columbus looks about as fast as Albany or Warner Robins when driving around town.
But like I said Savannah and Augusta are already many steps ahead of Columbus and Macon....and I dont seen any catching up to them any time soon.
Augusta's metro is too large and Savannah's dense inner city and amenities just cant be touched by Columbus and Macon right now.
