The census estimates that Columbus lost nearly 4,800 people from 2006 to 2007 - that loss was the second-greatest among U.S. cities for the one-year period, according to the Census Bureau.

In March 2007, more than 3,000 U.S. Army soldiers stationed at Fort Benning were deployed to Iraq. The loss in the city's population may can be explained by their deployment and the subsequent relocation of their families.

Ok Columbus your slipping....lol

Troop deployments and suburbanization to Harris and Lee County. Got 40,000+ folks coming in 2-3 years so nothing to worry about .

So much for that respected and cited source.
Could have got that info from local fortune teller for next to nothing.
