Generalizing a bit but the student population at the School of the Arts would have above average support for intellectual/creative achievement.

I hope we have more students/schools like this.

Default My suggestion would be Milledgeville, GA

Milledgeville, Ga. is a small college town but has several schools to choose from. They have a private school, a Millitary, and several public schools.
There is a nice lake if you like to fish or boat.

Good Luck

The state school ranking provided by U.S. News & World Report------I would just disregard------ if you are looking for a truly competetive high school. Although it does measure "college readiness", it smells too much of "No Child Left Behind", with far too much weight given to the performance of disadvantaged students. This would be helpful if you do have a disadvantaged child.

I'll name a few good places to live in Georgia along with the reasons I think they are good places to live.

Athens - home of the University of Georgia - downtown Athens is great. If you have school-age children then find a place in Oconee County where the schools are good and it is only a 15 to 20 minute drive to Athens. (Note: Athens is in Clarke County.)

Near Buford on Lake Lanier - there are some beautiful sites there and living on the lake is wonderful.

Jasper - the beautiful North Georgia mountains are just minutes away.

Madison - a small town with beautiful old homes that General Sherman left standing.

Peachtree City - a planned city in Fayette County. Fayette County schools are among the best in Georgia. If you like playing golf then Peachtree City is where you want to live. Peachtree City has a lot to offer. It is a great place to live.

Fayetteville - also in Fayette County. Fayetteville is just a very nice place to live. Unincorporated areas in Fayette County south of Fayetteville are nice too.

Don't even consider Clayton County - lots of crime and a terrible school situation. Towns in Clayton County are Jonesboro, Forest Park, Lake City, Morrow, Riverdale, and part of College Park (where there is no college even though its name is College Park). Also, don't even consider East Point or Hapeville or the part of College Park that is in Fulton County. BTW, Fulton County has the highest taxes in Georgia.
