What are you talking about. This is from the 2006 census. Can you not read or see.
But as usual though anything about augusta. You have to post a negative comment.

I am looking myself to move there. Small towns like Nashville,Lake Park, Thomasville look nice but its hard to tell. I live in North Fla.small town and they do not like OUTSIDERS
as we are called. Do your research.

We have lived in Albany for a year now, and I can tell you this: The taxes are OBSCENELY high, so much so that we're looking to get out. The majority of this town is on welfare, and if somebody does work--make that "work"--especially in a store or restaurant, they're going to be mad about it and drag their feet, apparently in the belief that the rest of us owe them a check for doing nothing. As for racism? It's here all right, but possibly not in the way you think it is. Black-on-white racism is pretty rampant.

You pegged it. But what bugs me even more is that you can't go to a restaurant w/o having your food almost literally thrown at you b/c the wait staff wish they could go back to being welfare queens instead of working.
And we're here paying exorbitant taxes to support that attitude, not to mention build a CREEPY-looking statue of Ray Charles in what passes for "downtown" (read: slum). I hear about the Flint River all the time; the Flint River is something you could spit across. There is just about NOTHING here to recommend. We only moved here b/c my husband's job paid twice what it would have paid in our former city. Albany is AWFUL.

sorry, this just made me laugh, the excitement over 2 starbucks in a city. isnt one in a hospital?

Anybody who thinks Albany is "economically happening" probably runs a crackhouse here. Albany (and most of SW GA) bases its economy on speed traps and unbelievably high taxes.

There's more to the cost of living than rent. There are taxes, which are absolutely as high as TPTB can crank them up to be. There are utilities, which...ditto. There are consumer prices (food, gas, clothing, entertainment) which keep pace with everywhere else in the area.

US Census website..2006 Augusta population est 189,366...
Here's the link:
Augusta-Richmond County (balance), Georgia - Population Finder - American FactFinder
195,182 was the 2000 population.. according to the US census bureau.. Augusta's population has declined by close to 6,000 ppl in just six years.
You choose to post old data and misrepresent it as current data. You are wrong. It is as plain as black and white on the census bureau website. It is a fact that Augusta's population has declined by almost 6,000 people since the 2000 census. YOu may not like it.. but it's the plain truth.

Okay it has lost population from 2000 to 2005. WE GOT YOU. You have said the same thing in 20 diffrent post. I understand but it gained people in 2006 and 2007. You may not like it.. but it's the plain truth.
Get a life. Why are you worried about augusta. This is the most recent estimate as of 2006. Click the link down below. And see for yourself. Augusta city and richmond county have two diffrent populations. We know you don't like augusta. I get it OKAY. I could care less what you think. You are a very sad person inside. Who spends all their time posting things about a city that claim not to like. You obviously have low self-esteem.
As plain as black and white like you said. This is from the U.S. census
Richmond 194,398 as of 2006

This is funny to me. I think you don't like it. Because is it me or you always posting something about augusta. In 2006 and 2007 Augusta city and richmond county population has gain people.
