5 best...
Kennesaw - Smart Active people
Tifton - Easy access to everything. Smart people. Good Government. High Income Jobs
Leesburg - Better educated, higher income former Albany residents
Brunswick/Golden Isles - Beautiful
Savannah - Historic, coastal and fun
5 worst ....
Blairsville/Young Harris/Hiawassee area (too much corruption and violence by bankers and public officials, no activities, high cost of living, you'll be surrounded by stupidity. Don't turn to law enforcement or the courts for help as they'll be the ones who robbed you. They main economy is based around theft, marijuana, meth production and money laundering)
Albany (too much crime, moronic city leadership is convinced of its own genius)
Atlanta (downtown area)
Augusta (nothing. nothing. nothing.)
Macon (the "Armpit of the South")

Best places to live:

- Dahlonega
- Cleveland- Good place to buy real estate
- Fitzgerald
- Waycross
Worst Places to live:
- Albany
- Dawson
- Bambridge
- Decatur
- Marietta
- Conyers
- Lithonia
- Bankhead
-Barnesville
Oh and I have lived near and am very versed in these areas. My opinion is definitely an informed one.

Not if you think Young Harris if a "good" place to live. Its a good place if you want meth or to watch your drunk neighbors take potshots at your kids and your pets.

well I agree with your list except for Hiawasee and Atlanta...
the beautiful scenery of north GA and its abundant opportunities for hiking and other outdoor activities more that make up for any negatives.
Asfar as Atlanta.. it is a vibrant dynamic city with a lot more to it than just the ghetto areas south and southwest of downtown.
I do agree that any "worst of" list must include Albany, Macon, and Disgusta.

Columbus is all ghetto from Manchester Exp South.
Look at the condition of the homes fronting the airport thruway from veterans pkwy to miller rd.
Unbelievable for a upscale progressive city.

Well no doubt Columbus has its ghetto areas.. but I certainly wouldn't say its to the extent of Macon, Disgusta, and Albany.
Certain parts of Disgusta are so deplorable, you almost think you are in Haiti.

I actually think all of the Fall line cities are pretty similar and equally nasty... but atleast with Macon and Columbus you are an hour CLOSER to Atlanta than you are in Disgusta. So atleast its easier to escape when you need to. So I give Columbus and Macon an edge over Disgusta for that simple reason.

You are so right.
And believe me...if you talk to most young and middle aged residents in town they burn rubber getting out of town whenever they can!! lol
It is great for retirees but not for anyone who can still breath.

try not to take too much of what disgustasucks says too seriously. Augusta is not that bad a place. I can name several areas of Atlanta (Pittsburgh, Bankhead, Vine City, ect...) which are a lot worse looking. I used to go through those areas on field trips and we had to get under our seats due to automatic gunfire going off. And Clayton County (A SUBURB!!!!) has a higher murder rate (18 per 100,000) and crime rate than Augusta.
