Most of the cities in Georgia other than Atlanta, Savannah, and Athens can be described this way.

Actually it is not true. Obviously, you are not over 21. I agree, there is not much for people younger than 21. But in reality, how much is there to do anywhere for people under 21? If you were of age to go downtown or to other bars around the city, you would have a different opinion, I promise.

I grew up in the area and live in Columbus as well. I find plenty to do every weekend. Downtown is a ton of fun. Bars, clubs, restaurants, etc. Do you not go out anywhere???

I have been out in every city in GA. This is how I would rank the cities for nightlife.
1) Atlanta
2) Athens
3) Savannah
4) Columbus
5) Augusta
6) Macon

You sound single.
Bars and clubbing aren't really my thing anymore.
We like restaurants but it would be nice if there were more to do.

That is what single people do. There are tons of restaurants in Columbus. The city has restaurants everywhere. I swear people in Columbus don't cook!

Hey, it's all about what you're into. When I become of age, I wouldnt mind going to any type of bar, but heck even the towns much smaller than the 2nd tier cities of Georgia have some bars where you can play pool and get drinks so that nothing special.
Im more into "urban" life. I'd prefer a kind of upscale jazz, r&b, reggae type of place to go to, but most of those you have to be into your 20s to get into. I atleast know that Macon and Warner Robins both have quite a few of those type of spots. From my knowledge, Columbus really didnt have any. I can only tell you of my experience, maybe there are some, but I didnt see any and the people I knew didnt either.
Well since I cant get into those types of places anyway, I'd prefer a nice "mixed" club to go to (that plays ALL kinds of music with a diverse crowd) or either a "safe" hip hop based club
.....we have those types of clubs in Macon...I didnt see or kno of any in Columbus. Every place for a young "urban" crowd in Columbus to my knowledge was a hole in wall, crime ridden cellpool and I dont like to be around that. Macon has a few places like that but we also have some hangouts where people of my same interest can go and not have to worry about the "thuggish/gangsta" style
It's just that with a city of Columbus' population, I would think on the weekend I could say to myself "hmmmm which one of the spots do I want to go to tonight?" (aka a variety of options to choose from) but I often found myself asking "where is there to go?"
