Does Any One Know About Marion County GA? (Columbus: house, schools)

We recently brought a house in Mauk GA, population so little that it doesn't even show up on the map. We can't seem to find any information on Mauk or even Marion County in GA, which is where the part of Mauk that we are moving to is located. The rest of Mauk is in Taylor County. Does anyone know anything about this area? We will be moving there in June/July, so any helpful information would be great. I know that the biggest city near us is Columbus, which is where our Realtor is located. Hosptials, Clinics, Water Company(s), Power Company(s), Gas Company (s), Stores, Interesting Things are Places, any of these tips would be terrific.

Marion County is fast becoming a bedroom community for Columbus. A lot of new subdivisions are being developed to accomodate the growth of Fort Benning. If you want shopping you are going to have to go to Columbus. Marion is still very rural, but it is changing. Columbus has everything you need from shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.

I don't know if you have moved yet or not but this is our Mauk, ga , Marion County side. The power company is Flint energies and is located in upatoi,ga about 15 mins from columbus . The water company ,gas and schools are all in buena vista ga whisch is about 15 mins or so away. The post office is in Mauk on the Taylor Co. side. All hospitals and major shopping other than small grocery stores are in Columbus,ga which is about 30-45 mins away depending on what area in columbus. You can get satellite but no cable in our area yet. Hwy 41 now has flint cable. Looking for it to move this way. Hope this has helped you some.
