Albany police and other emergency services: About -2. When you call the fire department because there's a fire next door, and your neighborhood is over 50 years old (I mean the houses and streets, not the residents), and the FD CAN'T FIND THE HOUSE, that's a problem. As for the PD, well, they're pretty much a joke here. Lee County is apparently somewhat different, but Albany...meh. There may be exceptions to this, but I haven't met them yet.

I'm pretty much convinced at this point--and I would LOVE to be wrong--that Albany emergency service providers couldn't find their butts with both hands, a flashlight, and sophisticated butt-finding equipment.

Who knows? Crappy educational system, pitiful management, black-on-white racism, or a combination of all three. More than one person has told me that in Albany, the PD will write up any incident/accident to reflect negatively on any white person even tangentially involved.
