I actually live in Texas and have been to the Beaumont area several times. We are actually looking to relocate to the Georgia area ourselves. Anyway as far as Beaumont..(& remember this coming from a Texas girl who LOVES Texas) I would NOT & I repeat NOT recommend moving there. There really is nothing wrong with the town, but just the past several times we went, I just really didn't find it appealing. Anyway JMHO

I have worked for extended period of time in Beaumont. Plenty of good people with a very reasonable cost of living. The weather will make Baton Rouge's (which I have also worked in extensively) seem cool. Does not seem like much to do there though. A good 2 hour drive to Houston.
