hi i saw a previous post suggesting that the services for special needs children is not so good in Georgia and i guess I wanted someone to elaborate for me. Because I was planning on moving to Georgia probably athens from Florida. My daughter has a condition called microtia so she is hearing impaired. She just finished pre-k and will be entering kindergarten in the fall. She is on medicaid and at her current school she recieves occupational and speech therapy. I was moving back to athens to be closer to my family and have a better support sysytem, but if the services are not benefical to her needs I don't want to make the transition. Are there any good schools that cater to the hearing impaired or programs that help children with special needs?

Default Before I can answer...

I need a little more information:

Is your daughter normal cognitively?

Is she mainstreamed? If so, does she have an aide or does she do ok on her own?
