Dahlonega is a cute town with North Georgia College. It's pretty small, but the downtown area is targeted at tourists (antiques, about four ice cream shops, home decor, etc.) and is known for "Goldrush Days". It gets VERY congested in the peak fall season. There are a couple of good restaurants, and it's convenient to GA400, which takes you to North Georgia Premium Outlet mall or Atlanta. I don't live there, but my baby was born near there and I stayed in the "hospital" there. I live about 45 minutes away.
Hope this helps! |
