Kerry88, I see the small town of Madison, Georgia on your list.
Good. It is beautiful, friendly and you will see lots of well-preserved historic properties there. There is a good mix of old and newer homes. There are some intown lofts with rooftop gardens in the older brick buildings downtown. The town is often featured in home and travel magazines. It's very small, but growing.
Madison is about an hour's drive east of Atlanta, conveniently right along the way to Lake Oconee where you will find camping, fishing, watersports and golf - in fact, a five star lakefront golf resort (the Ritz Carlton at Reynold's Plantation). Worth a closer look.

Please help...we are looking to move to Hinesville, Jesup, or Brunswick. My husband is a high school teacher; I am a stay at home mom. We have 2 boys, one in 7th grade, and the other in 3rd. We are wondering how the towns are. Homes, price of homes, schools, churches, and people. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, lived in Hinesville for about 20 years..... lets see for the most part its quiet, large part of the town is military, oh we have a Wal-mart... if you are looking to go shopping or any thing fun to do you can always travel to Sav. but I would'nt suggest living there (too congested for me)... Schools hmmm better in Long County. Houses lots of new construction, the average cost of a new home probably around $180K thats a really nice one at that. Lots of churches to choose from, beside we live in the bible belt. Jesup too many drugs if you ask me, rather go to Jesup Wal-mart though less hassle than here in Hinesville.... Brunswick is nice more upscale than Hinesville close to the beaches if you like that sorry dont know too much about that.... If you have any specific questions let me know i will help as much as i can, I am relocating to Tn. I feel your frustration!!!!!

Jesup is a great place to live. The high school here is brand new. The people are friendly. It's small, but not too small - about 28,000 people. You can get an idea about homes by pulling up the Press Sentinel newspaper, Jesup, GA. There's a section that says HOMELAND and it's got lots of homes and land for sale in Wayne County. Also, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce has a great web site. Brunswick, St. Simon's Island, and Jekyll Island are only 45 minutes away and Savannah is 65 miles. You don't want to live in Hinesville - there's too many people for the area and the people are rude. Moderator cut: Removed
