My suggestion would be to take a serious look at Valdosta. Target, Lowes, small indoor mall, cute downtown, 4-yr university and a military base for a little more diversity than you'll find in most of the other towns down here. There is also a lot of land around for sale.

Vidalia and surrounding areas would be a nice choice. Good country living at its best. Savannah appx 85 miles Macon appx 90 miles Atlanta appx 3-4 hr. drive. Beaches St. Augustine, Hilton Head, Jekyell Island. Lowe's in Vid.
Colleges Ga. Southern University Statesboro Brewton Parker College Ailey. What else would you need? Slow pace.

Waycross, Hoboken and Nahunta are great areas to live. Homes are affordable. Check out Ware and Brantley counties on the web.

Anney.

When u say southern/eastern part, do you mean Atlanta or Georgia. Can be a very big difference. Southern Atlanta can mean inner city area or southern suburbs, again big difference. Eastern could be same thing. Georgia is much more than Atlanta.
