Need help from GA folk
We are looking to move to GA here shortly and are in search of a town. We want a rural neighborhood w/homes on property(horses and 4wheelers welcome) but want to be close (15mins) to shopping(lowes, target) and dinning. Needs to be a safe area (low crime)and housing up to $200k. Any help would be greatly appreciated

At that price point for rural pursuits close to big box shopping and chain restaurants, your best bet might be to check out the Douglas/Paulding/Carroll county areas to the west of Atlanta.

I see. How close do you need to be to Atlanta?
Is Monticello, Jasper County too far out for you? Your shopping would be north to Covington (1-20 area) or west to Griffin, northwest to McDonough (nearer to I-75). As for rural pursuits, here's a clue: the movie "My Cousin Vinny" was filmed there, substituting for Alabama.
It's also the homeplace of singer Trisha Yearwood.

Thanks for the input..........We prefer to be as far from atlanta as possible. We are not big city people and prefer country life with lots of close by ammns. Any other thoughts?

Try Walton County, the towns of Walnut Grove, Monroe, Loganville, and maybe try Good Hope. Those are still pretty rural and on the east side but it's an easy drive to plenty of shopping. Might be a bit farther north or maybe not quite as rural as you wanted to be, though (that's hard to find without losing the shopping and dining you want). Those towns are north of I-20 to the east of Atlanta. But take a look.
Farther to the southeast, you should probably explore the countryside around Eatonton in Putnam County.

Oh, to the southeast, have you looked at Monroe County? There's plenty of shopping at Forsyth (Monroe's biggest city) along I-75 on the route to Macon, but away from the interstate, Monroe county is quite rural.

Yes, do look at Monroe County. The more I think about it, Juliette, Georgia might fit your wish list perfectly.
Juliette is a tiny country town in Monroe County surrounded by farmland. Very rural. As far as I know, it has only one claim to fame: being home to the quaint "Whistle Stop Café", featured in the Fried Green Tomato movie that was filmed there. For shopping and more dining, you could still head up to Monroe's largest city -- Forsyth (not to be confused with Forsyth COUNTY near Atlanta).
