Fort Benning employs 32,000+ people and will soon employ 10,000 more people by 2012. You are wrong.

Well Columbus just got more recognition on Georgia Public Radio today...
US Census figures stated that Columbus Georgia had the largest drop in population from 2006-2007 except for Cleveland Ohio and this was even with the troop deployments figured in....
Imagine that...a town that was voted 4th as family friendly.....rofl
Give us all a break.
They also announced that Columbus had the HIGHEST auto theft rates in the ENTIRE STATE even outdoing Atlanta for this position.
Imagine the records that will be set when the 40K people start rolling in.

ATLCOL your claims are bogus and I along with many other posters I have spoke to do not believe you are UGA grad either(but maybe a GED)

At ease soldier....rofl
And have a great day

Yep! I know I am in denial. What about the rest of you Columbusites? I will remind myself the next time I am traveling on Victory Drive, Buena Vista Rd, St Mary's Rd, Forrest Rd, Macon Rd, Veterans Park Way, Airport Thru Way or the North By Pass, that the reason for the increase in traffic is because Columbus is loosing population, yep that's what I am going to tell myself. All these darn cars don't really exist. I also admit, Fort Benning deployed about 3,500 troops, then a census sample was taken while they were gone. Let's admit, most of the troops have returned and guess what? You might not believe this, but since they are military, they're leaving again. Darn it! I will also admit that I have no idea how the sampling was done, but I do know that all sampling have a significant amount of error (depending on the sample size relative to the population); of course the error can be decreased by a larger sample size, which usually cost a lot more money. But at this point who really cares, since the 2010 census is coming up soon. There, are you happy now?. HA-HA-HA-HA!!! I do have one question. If Columbus lost about 3,500 people, but added jobs, then how did the unemployment rate go up?

Columbus is not what people from there would want you to believe it is. They hype it a bit much.

I graduated with a B.B.A. in Real Estate from the Terry College of Business, the #2 real estate undergrad program in the country. I am a real estate developer, so yea, I kinda know what I am talking about. Maybe you can learn something from me.

Have a great day!
